Iraqi President receives Arab Parliament Speaker

BAGHDAD 20th December 2015 (WAM) --- Iraqi President Fuad Masum has received Speaker of the Arab Parliament Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Jarwan at Al-Salam Palace.

During the meeting he praised the pan-Arab body for playing an essential role in driving joint Arab action and bolstering intra-Arab relations to address challenges facing the Arab Nation.

President Masum also called upon the Arab Parliament to boost relations between Iraq and other Arab countries and stressed that Iraq continues its efforts to achieve national reconciliation.

For his part the speaker of the Arab Parliament stressed that the body is ready to support reconciliation through efforts at the Arab and international levels.

He noted that Iraq should play a role in making the future of Arabs because it is a pillar of joint Arab action.

A number of members of the Arab Parliament and Iraqi officials attended the meeting.
