13 Malaysian tourists killed as bus plunges into ravine in Thailand


(MENAFN- Saudi Press Agency) Kuala Lumpur/Bangkok Rabi'I 9 1437 Dec 20 2015 SPA -- Malaysia on Sunday confirmed that 13 of
its citizens were killed when a tourist bus crashed into a ravine in
northern Thailand according to dpa.

The Malaysian Foreign Ministry said the accident occurred mid-morning
on Sunday in Doi Saket district in Chinang Mai province.

Thai police said the tourist bus was travelling along a mountainous
route between Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai when it lost control and
tumbled down a ravine.

"Twelve Chinese nationals were killed instantly and 13 more are
seriously injured" a police officer had previously said at the scene
on condition of anonymity.

Police said they are investigating the cause of the accident.
