(MENAFN- Saudi Press Agency) Madrid Rabi'I 09 1437 December 20 2015 SPA -- Residents across northern Spain have fled their homes
because of a series of forest fires in the region state broadcaster
RNE reported Sunday according to dpa.
The situation was calmer early Sunday thanks to rainfall after
periods during up to 100 fires had been active. The worst affected
parts are in the north-eastern regions of Asturias and Cantabria. The
flames are encroaching upon some inhabited areas.
So far there have been no reports of injuries.
The broadcaster reported that there is suspicion that at least some
of the blazes were started by arsonists.
