Qatar Embassies Celebrate National Day


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Doha December 19 (QNA) - Qatar's embassies and diplomatic missions abroad have continued celebrations to mark the National Day of the State of Qatar which falls on December 18 every year to commemorate the founder Sheikh Jassim bin Mohamed bin Thani.

HE Qatar's Ambassador to the Republic of Moldova Mohammed bin Ali Al Malki held a reception to mark the occasion attended by ranking government officials members of the diplomatic corps and international organizations accredited in the country universities professors businessmen and guests.

In Dhaka HE Qatar's Ambassador to Bangladesh Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Duhaimi hosted a reception to mark the National Day attended by senior government officials and military officers as well as members of the National Parliament and representatives of political parties businessmen heads of universities prominent figures members of the diplomatic corps accredited to the Republic and Qatari military candidates in Bangladesh colleges.

A number of orphans sponsored by Qatar Charity participated in the ceremony by presenting national anthems paragraphs.Qatar Airways and Qatar Charity also took part in the event by presenting documentaries and pictures about the history of Qatar.

Meanwhile HE Qatar's Consul General in Jeddah Khamees bin Ibrahim Al Muhannadi held a ceremony to mark Qatar's National Day in the presence of Deputy Director General of the Foreign Ministry of Makkah branch and Permanent Representative to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation the consuls general accredited in Jeddah senior Foreign Ministry officials in Makkah branch managers and heads of international organizations and businessmen.

In Asmara HE Qatar's Ambassador Mohammed bin Rashid Al Humaidi hosted a reception to celebrate Qatar's National Day.

President of Eritrea Isaias Afwerki attended the ceremony and entrusted the Qatari Ambassador with his greetings to HH the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and HH the Father Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani wishing the State of Qatar and the Qatari people further progress and prosperity.

The ceremony was also attended by a number of ministers senior officials heads of the diplomatic missions accredited in the country and prominent figures.

HE Qatar's Ambassador to the Republic of Benin Mohammed bin Jaber Al Kuwari also hosted a reception to mark the National Day of the State of Qatar.

The ceremony was attended by Representative of the Government of Benin and Interior Minister members of the diplomatic corps accredited to Benin businessmen media and civil society activists.

Addressing the ceremony HE the Qatari Ambassador underlined Qatar's keenness to further strengthening relations and cooperation with the Republic of Benin in all fields.

Meanwhile HE Qatar's Consul General in Karachi Saad bin Abdullah Al Mahmoud hosted a ceremony on the occasion of the National Day included a documentary on the history of Qatar and the comprehensive development which the State is witnessing in all areas.

The Governor of Sindh Pakistan Dr. Ishratul Ibad Khan delivered a speech during the ceremony praising the strong and fraternally relations between Qatar and Pakistan.

He highlighted the strong economic and trade relations between the two countries and called for upgrading efforts to enhance those relations and raise the trade exchange volume noting that Pakistan provides all facilities for the Qatari citizens and businessmen to visit and invest in the country.

The Governor extended thanks and gratitude to the Qatari leadership for its continued support to Pakistan during natural disasters.

HE Qatar's Ambassador to Georgia Mubarak bin Nasser Al Khalifa also hosted a reception in the capital Tbilisi to mark Qatar's National Day.

Addressing the ceremony HE the Qatari Ambassador extended heartfelt congratulations to HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani on the occasion.

Georgia's Vice Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili attended the reception along with several prominent figures diplomats intellectuals and economists.

In Havana HE Qatar's Ambassador to Cuba Rashid Mirza Al Mulla held a ceremony on the occasion attended by Health Minister Roberto Morales Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister Rogelio Sierra Director of Bilateral Relations Department at the Cuban Foreign Ministry members of the diplomatic missions accredited to Cuba media civil society representatives and prominent figures.

HE the Ambassador delivered a speech in which he shed light on the comprehensive development which the State of Qatar is witnessing under the wise leadership of HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani.

The Ambassador highlighted the distinct relations between the State of Qatar and the Republic of Cuba in all areas.

Meanwhile HE Qatar's Ambassador to the Republic of Paraguay hosted a reception on the occasion of Qatar's National Day attended by the Minister of Industry and Trade Deputy Foreign Minister senior political leaders social dignitaries members of the Senate and House of Representatives of the Paraguay and senior government officials.

The ceremony included a documentary on Qatar's comprehensive development and most important achievements in the economic political and social fields under the leadership of HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani.

HE Qatar's Ambassador to Lebanon hosted a reception in the capital Beirut to celebrate the National Day.

The ceremony was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Samir Moqbel representing the Prime Minister Tammam Salam and Speaker of the Parliament Nabih Berri along with a number of ministers deputies ambassadors of a number of Arab and foreign countries accredited to Lebanon as well as a crowd of politics culture art and media figures and religious and military dignitaries.

In a speech on the occasion HE the Qatari Ambassador extended heartfelt congratulations to HH the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and HH the Father Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani and to all citizens and residents of the State of Qatar.

He underlined that the wise leadership of Qatar was keen on the development of human resources as the basis of the comprehensive development process in the modern state thus Qatar has succeeded in achieving leading achievements in various economic social health and educational fields based on Qatar National Vision 2030 which aims to transform Qatar into an advanced country capable of achieving sustainable development and to ensure the continuation of a decent life for its people generation after generation and the development of a diversified economy based on the knowledge economy and the growing importance of the private sector.

In Amman HE Qatar's Ambassador to Jordan Bandar bin Mohammed Abdullah Al Attiyah hosted a reception on the occasion of Qatar's National Day attended by Jordan's Senate President Faisal Al Fayez Speaker of the House of Representatives Atef Tarawneh Interior Minister Salamah Hammad Minister of Awqaf and Islamic and Sancitities Affairs Hayel Abdul-Hafeez and several other high-ranking officials dignitaries leaderships businessmen representatives of regional and international organizations and heads and members of the diplomatic corps accredited to the Kingdom.

In a speech on the occasion HE the Qatari Ambassador highlighted the most important achievements on the State of Qatar under the wise leadership of HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani.

In Vienna Qatar's Ambassador to Austria Ali Khalfan Al Mansouri who is also Qatar's Permanent Representative to the International Organizations in Vienna held a ceremony to celebrate the national day. A number of prominent political Austrian figures attended the ceremony. Director-General of The OPEC Fund for International Development Suleiman Harbash was one of the many prominent figures that attended the event.

In Turkmenistan Qatar's Ambassador Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Suwaidi held a ceremony that was attended by Minister of Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan Muhammetnur Halylov. He expressed his appreciation to the Turkmen-Qatari relations.

In Mexico Qatari Ambassador Ahmed bin Abdullah also held a ceremony that was attended by a number of Ministers and diplomats accredited by Mexico.

In Djibouti Ambassador Jassim bin Jaber Jassim Sorour held a ceremony that was attended by many ranking officials from Djibouti led by Minister of Foreign Affairs Mahamoud Ali Youssouf. Minister of Higher Education Nabil Mohammed Ahmed also attended along with Minister of Transport Ahmed Hassan.

In Brussels Ambassador of Qatar to Belgium HE Sheikh Ali bin Jassim Al-Thani His Excellency was also the Grand-Duchy of Luxembourg and Head of Mission to the European Union held a ceremony to celebrate Qatar National Day. A number of officials from Belgium European Union and NATO attended the ceremony. Arab and Foreign Ambassadors as well as Qatari citizens in Belgium attended the ceremony also.

In his speech HE the Ambassador congratulated HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani HH the Father Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani and the Qatari people. The Ambassador said that December 18th was the day that everyone reflects on the achievements of those who founded the State of Qatar led by Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammed bin Thani.

The Ambassador added that celebrating national day was crucial to Qatari youth as it helps maintain their link to the traditions of the country. The Ambassador added that HH the Emir treasures this day out of the belief that the future of the country will be a mixture between traditions and modernity.

In Tokyo Qatar's Ambassador Yousif Mohammed Bilal held a ceremony at Imperial Hotel attended by Chairman of the General Council of Japan's ruling council Toshihiro Nikaio who is also the President of Japanese Parliamentary Association for Friendship with the State of Qatar and the Minister of Economy Trade and Industry Motoo Hayashi in addition to a number of diplomatic corps members businessmen public figures and representatives of Japanese media.

In his speech HE the Ambassador congratulated HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani HH the Father Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani and the Qatari people. The Ambassador said that the National Day celebration proudly reminds everyone of the great achievements made in the march of development in Qatar. Thanks to our wise leadership Qatari diplomacy became an emulated model in the region for placing our country among influential countries in the region and the world he added.

HE the Ambassador praised the Qatari-Japanese relations which were established in 1972 on basis of respect and mutual interest.

Speaking at the ceremony Toshihiro Nikaio expressed Japan appreciation for the strong relations with Qatar. He also expressed thanks and appreciation for the Qatari support of Japan's proposal to the UN for setting November 5 of every year as International Tsunami Day.

In Colombo Qatar's Embassy held a ceremony which was attended by the Minister of Urban Planning and Water Supply Rauf Hakeem and a number of Sri Lankan ministers and officials in addition to ambassadors and heads of diplomatic missions and international organizations accredited to Sri Lanka.

In Monrovia HE Qatar's Ambassador to Liberia Mohammed Ismael Al Emadi hosted a reception at Bella Casa Hotel to celebrate Qatar National Day.

The ceremony was attended by a number of Liberian senior officials the UN Secretary-General's Special envoy to Liberia Farid Zarif heads of diplomatic missions accredited to Liberia and representatives of international organizations operating there in addition to members of the Arab community and the embassy's staff.

During the ceremony comprised several spots including documentaries that show the great development and comprehensive renaissance witnessed by the State of Qatar under the wise leadership of HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

Booklets and pamphlets giving information about the state of Qatar were also distributed during the ceremony.

In Paris HE Qatar's Ambassador to the French Republic Sheikh Mishaal bin Hamad Al Thani held a reception to mark the National Day of the State of Qatar The ceremony was attended by French Minister for Parliament Affairs Jean-Marie president of the Arab World Institute Education and Culture in addition to a number of senior presidency officials and representatives of the French armies and ministries as well as ambassadors and members of the Arab and foreign diplomatic corps in France.

The ceremony was also attended by a number of parliamentarians from the House of Representatives and Senators the official and the political diplomatic informational and economic figures heads of companies and a group of intellectuals academics and university professors researchers journalists athletes artists French Arab and foreign Qatari students and military personnel who are pursuing the study of military and courses at universities and institutes and the competent French schools.(END)
