RAMALLAH Dec 19 (KUNA) -- The housing campaign for a number of Palestinian families who had their houses demolished by Israeli forces continued in Nablus Saturday with USD 250000 raised for this cause thus far.
The campaign similar to another one in Jerusalem aimed at providing housing for Palestinian families who had constantly suffered from this irrational Israeli policy Hassan Qamhiya told KUNA.
Qamhiya one of the campaign's youth coordinators said that the Israeli policy of demolishing houses on the pretext of protecting settlers was unjust adding that the families had nothing to do whatsoever with the attacks on Jewish settlers.
He noted that the campaign was not affiliated with any political group nor a faction adding that donations were gathered at mosques and other places of social gatherings.
The Israeli government halted the demolition policy against houses belonging to Palestinian activists in 2005 however current Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu brought back this policy. (end) ng.gta
