Sacred Heart School to Offer Italian for Travelers in January

Sacred Heart School (www.sacredheartkingston.com) a private Catholic co-educational school for students in preschool through grade 12 will be offering an “Italian for Travelers” class beginning this January as part of their Continuing Education Program. 

 

The twelve week introductory course is designed to teach students essential Italian words and phrases.  Instructor Filippo Toscano a native Italian will focus on communication skills used in real-life situations: ordering food arranging transportation shopping and finding the sights in this beautiful country.  Students will also get an inside look at different cultural aspects including local cuisine customs points of interest and differences between the many regions.  

 

Toscano has a long history of teaching his native language.  He has taught in Braintree Hingham and Duxbury adult education programs.  “His passion for both education and his culture are very apparent. When he enters the classroom you can feel his enthusiasm which creates a fun and lively learning atmosphere.” said Program Director Dylan Collins.   

 

Classes will meet at the Sacred Heart High School every Thursday from 3:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. or 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. from January 14 through April 7.  This extensive course is open to the public and students of all ages are welcome.
