Jordan- Finance minister meets US Treasury Secretary
(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) New York Dec. 17 (Petra) -- Finance Minister Omar Malhas on Thursday met with the US Secretary of Treasury Jack Lew and discussed efforts to drain up funding for terrorist groups.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of a UN Security Council meeting dedicated to discussing ways to confront funding for terrorist groups.
The two ministers also discussed ways to stop funding for Daesh terrorist group and ways to bolster international efforts in this regard.
Meanwhile Malhas spoke about the burdens being borne by Jordan as a result of hosting large numbers of Syrian refugees.
The US official meanwhile said his country was committed to supporting Jordan at all levels.
