(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman Dec. 17 (Petra) -- A ministry of interior source has explained that reports by some media outlets that authorities busted a criminal ring with sophisticated and high-tech surveillance cameras in its possession are true but in fact the incident took place two months ago and a statement was issued at that time.
The source was responding the some media outlets which have been disseminating the story as if it has happened in the past few days. Two months ago a special security force stormed the hideout of a criminal group in the north-eastern Al-Mafraq governorate and arrested a number of high-profile suspects.
During the raid police seized advanced and sophisticated surveillance cameras installed in and around the ring's hideout. A total of 13 persons were arrested facing charges related to attempted murder illegal gun possession drug trafficking and fraud among others.
