Oman- Renaissance Inter School Sailing Chionship finals on Saturday

A total of 36 sailors representing 12 schools will vie for the top honours in the sixth edition of the Renaissance Inter-School Sailing Championship which will be held at Kalbooh near Muttrah Corniche on Saturday.

The sailors aged between eight to 12 qualified for the final round after six days of racing that witnessed more than 150 sailors compete in the qualifiers. The qualifying rounds were held at Oman Sail's four centres - Al Mouj Muscat Marina Bandar al Rowdha Mussanah and Sur.

The teams that qualified are Sur Private School Abdul Rahman bin Auf School and Said bin Taimur School (Sur); Saidia Qantab and Ibn Nafees schools (Marina Bander Al Rowdha); Manhal School Alshikh Nasser School and Ahmed Bin Majid School (Al Mouj Muscat); Ka'ab Bin Sur Al Khalil bin Ahmed and Kanbsh bin Moh'd schools (Musannah).

Rashid al Kindi Oman Sail's national youth team manager said 'The qualifying rounds have shown us that the standard of sailing is high and the potential to get even better bodes well for the future. The sailors in the final round represent the best of the next generation of Omani sailors and as they continue to progress Oman Sail will support their development at every stage.' The prize-giving ceremony will be held at Kalbooh Park Amphitheatre as part of Oman Sail's 45th National Day Sailing Festival.
