S. Korea LG Chem to supply battery modules to AES Energy


(MENAFN) S. Korea's top chemicals and battery producer, LG Chem Co has signed a contract, in order to supply battery modules to AES Energy Storage, main U.S. power provider.

The company will supply lithium-ion battery modules with a gig watt hour of volume, which translates into daily power consumption for some 100,000 households.

Moreover, it is the largest deal in terms of capacity for the ESS sector, which is a system for saving energy in large-scale batteries for effective supply of power.

In addition, the international ESS market is predicted to reach USD 13.2bn in 2020 from this year's estimated USD 0.0016mn.
