(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) The Ministry of Economy and Commerce, in collaboration with Aamal Trading and Distribution, the distributor of Bridgestone tyres in Qatar, has announced the recall of Bridgestone Turanza GR90 car tyres, serial number EL6B BNA ,frame size 235 / 55R17 99W Japan made due to non-compliance to the Gulf Cooperation Council GCC Standardization Organization (GSO) for testing high speeds performance, which requires completion of travel at speed of 260 km / h for 20 minutes for the size of the above tyres. So they will be replaced with free tyres that match the new specifications.
The ministry said the recall comes within the framework of ongoing coordination and follow-up by the ministry to ascertain the extent of car dealerships' commitment to follow up vehicles' defects and repair them to protect consumers' rights.
The ministry also stressed that it will coordinate with the dealership to follow up maintenance and repair operations and will communicate with customers to ensure that the defects are fixed.
The ministry urged consumers to report any abuses or irregularities by communicating with the Department of Consumer Protection and Commercial Fraud Combat which will receive complaints, suggestions and inquiries through its communication channels.
