Five PKK terrorists killed in southeast Turkey


(MENAFN- The Journal Of Turkish Weekly) Five PKK terrorists were killed Monday in a security operation in the southeastern province of Mardin Turkish security sources said.

The operation in the town of Dargecit also saw three civilians including a child injured. The town which lies around 40 kilometers (26 miles) north of the Syrian border has been under curfew since Friday.

The PKK - considered a terrorist organization by Turkey the U.S. and EU - resumed its armed campaign in late July. Since then more than 180 members of the security forces have been martyred and around 1700 PKK terrorists killed.
