Jordan, Egypt discuss investment cooperation


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman Dec. 14 (Petra)--Meetings of the joint technical committee for investment cooperation between Jordan and Egypt started in Amman on Monday co-chaired by Jordan Investment Commission (JIC) President Montaser Oklah and Chairman of the Egyptian General Authority for Investment (GAFI) Ala'iddin Omar.

The meeting reviewed institutional cooperation between the JIC and its Egyptian counterpart as well as investment opportunities in both countries.

Oklah spoke about economic reforms in the Kingdom that included amending laws and legislation that contributed to creating a relevant investment climate to attract more Arab and foreign investments into the Kingdom.

Chairman of GAFI highlighted the importance of economic integration between the two countries and called for activating investment agreements signed between the two countries.

The volume of Jordanian investments in Egypt currently stands at $501 million while Egyptian investments in the Kingdom reach $300 million.
