Turkey redeploys troops in northern raq


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) ANKARA Dec 14 (KUNA) -- The Turkish Army has moved recently-deployed units from Bashiqa near the northern Iraqi city of Mosul to a region under control of the Iraqi Kurdistan administration farther in the north the Anadolu news agency reported on Monday.The news agency said a convoy of 10-12 military vehicles and tanks withdrew from Bashiqa to the Kurdish-patrolled regions as "part of new arrangements." Anadulo revealed no further details about the military troop movement.Ankara has recently dispatched the units to the location close to Mosul saying the measure was of "training and not combat nature." Baghdad on Friday lodged a complaint with the UN Security Council in retaliation for the Turkish military movement and called on Ankara to withdraw the forces from Iraq immediately. (end) rs.rk
