Kuwait's Ambassador to Australia presents credentials

KUALA LUMPUR Dec 14 (KUNA) -- Kuwait newly appointed envoy Najeeb Al-Bader presented his credentials on Monday to Australia's (retired Governor-General) Sir Peter Cosgrove as Kuwait plenipotentiary Ambassador to the nation.
The credentials' delivery ceremony was conducted at the Governor's headquarters in Canberra the Australian capital.
Al-Bader in a phone call with Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) conveyed greetings of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahamad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and his wishes for Cosgrove of everlasting health and wellness and the Australian people further progress and prosperity.
The Kuwaiti Ambassador and the Governor during the meeting discussed his nation's courageous stance in supporting Kuwait during the Iraqi invasion in 1990.
Ambassador Al-Bader hailed Australia's efforts for enhancing international security and stability especially in the Middles East noting the nation has recently hosted more than 12000 refugees from Syria and Iraq and allocated USD 230 million to support them.
Al-Bader applauded Australia's efforts in fighting terrorist groups namely the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) besides its active contribution to peacekeeping forces worldwide.
Moreover the diplomat and the governor tackled means of boosting economic and business cooperation between Kuwait and Australia.
Governor Cosgrove is looking forward to strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries in all fields Ambassador Al-Bader stated. (end) mam.lb
