Sheikh Faisal Centre hosts group of MBA students from DePaul University

(MENAFN- Gulf Times) The Sheikh Faisal Centre for Entrepreneurship in the Middle East has once again hosted a group of students from DePaul University, Chicago (US), visiting Qatar for the past week as part of the entrepreneurship and business development programme offered by the centre.
As part of the initiative, MBA students working professionally from Chicago visited Qatar to get an idea of the nature of how entrepreneurship functions in the region.
The visit provided students with real international business experience, exposing them to Qatar's diverse economy and allowing them to get acquainted with different cultures and mentalities, according to a statement.
The students visited a number of organisations in Doha to learn about the business world in Qatar, including Ooredoo, Al Jazeera Network, Supreme Education Council, Qatar Stock Exchange, Qatar Science & Technology Park, Qatar Shell, Aspire Zone and Qatar Business Incubation Centre, among others.
Dr Mandy Terc, director of the Sheikh Faisal Centre for Entrepreneurship in the Middle East, DePaul University, said: "It is great to have such prestigious organisations co-operate with us. The students noticed that there is emphasis on promoting new and diversified entrepreneurial businesses. They were awestruck by the ambitions the country has and the development it has achieved in such a short period of time.
"This partnership is allowing American MBA students access to Qatar's exciting business opportunities and opening the possibilities for increased co-operation between Chicago- and Doha-based businesses."
The students also visited some of Qatar's cultural sites, including Sheikh Faisal Museum, to experience the culture, history and tradition of Qatar.
The Sheikh Faisal Centre for Entrepreneurship "looks forward to further strengthening the partnership with DePaul University that will greatly benefit students in their learning, helping them get their feet on the ground in the business world", the statement notes.
DePaul University is a leading educational institution known for its programme in entrepreneurship studies.
