Kuwait court of appeal supports death penalty for mosque bomber

KUWAIT 13th December 2015 (WAM) -- The Court of Appeal's criminal circuit in Kuwait today upheld a tentative death sentence against Abdulrahman Sabah Eidan the prime suspect in the bombing of the Shiite Al Imam Al Sadiq Mosque in Kuwait City that killed 26 and injured a further 227 last January.

Kuwaiti News Agency KUNA reported that the court also decided to halt cross-examination into the appeal filed by the public prosecution against the second third fourth fifth and sixth defendants pending conclusion of the appeal process duration.

The court repealed a tentative death sentence against the ninth defendant Fahad Muhareb acquitting him of the charges that warrant the death penalty and as a result he was given a 15-year prison sentence to be followed with expulsion from the country according to KUNA.
