Yemeni gov't says ceasefire to start Dec. 15


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) RIYADH Dec 12 (KUNA) -- Yemeni Foreign Minister Abdulmalek Al-Mekhlafi has stated that President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi informed UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon about readiness to start a ceasefire as of Monday ahead of Geneva talks with rebels.In a statement to reporters following his meeting with Turkish ambassador to Yemen Saturday Al-Makhlafi also Deputy Prime Minister said that the goal of Geneva talks is to put in place the UN Security Council Resolution 2216.For his part the Turkish diplomat voiced his country's unwavering support to the Yemeni government.Meanwhile Yemeni Vice-President and Prime Minister Khaled Bahah underscored the government keenness on ending the war to stop the suffering of Yemeni people.He noted that the government seeks to bring to a halt the Houthis' coup against the legitimacy and to restore security and stability in Yemen.
