Qatar- France Donates Tunisia 4 Million Euros to Fight Terrorism


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Tunis December 11 (QNA) - French Minister of State attached to the Defence Minister Jean-Marc Todeschini has announced that his country donated Tunisia 4 million euros to enhance its efforts in the fight against terrorism.
In a statement he gave on the sidelines of the 5+5 Defence Initiative in Tunisia that the donation came as part of a 20 million euros donation that France will give to Tunisia in 2016 and 2017.
The French official added that his country increased the French military assistance to Tunisia four folds pointing out that France began to dispatch equipment to the Tunisian army to fight terrorism and organized crime.
The 5+5 Defence Initiative is a multilateral co-operation initiative which aim is to promote the security in the Western Mediterranean region. It comprises the Arab Maghreb Union five members (Tunisia Algeria Libya Morocco and Mauritania) and five European countries overlooking the Mediterranean sea (Italy Spain Portugal Malta and France).
