Free 25 day India trip for NRI online quiz finalists

Young Indians in the UAE stand a chance to win a free 25-day trip to India if they canmake itamong the top 10 in the final round of an India-government sponsored quiz competition.

The Bharat Ko Janiye online quiz is an initiative of the Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs. It is meant for the Indian youth between 18 to 35 years of age across the world.

"The purpose of the quiz is to create awareness about diverse facets of India among the youth belonging to the Indian diaspora abroad" a senior official with the Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi told Khaleej Times.

"It is intended to educate them about India's progress in various fields like finance science and technology manufacturing industry communication and information technology etc. and also about the different facets of life in India" said Dinesh Kumar first secretary (Community Affairs).

The last date for online registration for participation is December 12 and participants in the UAE need to hurry to register at www.bharatkojaniye.in the diplomat said.

Circulars inviting the participation of school faculty members students' parents and community group members have already been sent to Indian schools and associations in the UAE he added.

The top 10 participants in each category will be called for an onsite final round of quiz in New Delhi on January 7 2016.

"The participants of the final round will be taken on an all-paid tour for 25 days to know more about their ancestral country India" said Kumar.

The winners of both the Non Resident Indian (NRI) and Person of Indian Origin (PIO) categories will be felicitated in the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas 2016 event to be held in Delhi on January 10.
