Saudi- Consolidation of security stability
(MENAFN- Arab News) RIYADH: Bahrain's King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa on Wednesday said that the 36th GCC Summit is a good chance for member states to exchange viewpoints on all issues of concern including security and stability of the region.
He said the challenges necessitate that everybody should come into conformity to move in a concerted way to achieve the aspirations of the peoples of the region.
King Hamad expressed happiness over coming to Riyadh to meet with Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and take part in the summit along with other leaders and heads of delegations.
He also expressed confidence that the summit would achieve the required objectives particularly further strengthening ties among GCC member countries in all fields and at all levels.
Qatar Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani voiced hope that the summit would yield fruitful results to contribute to enhancing the group's march to face the dangers engulfing the regional and international arenas.
He conveyed the greetings of the Qatari people to King Salman and the people of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and expressed happiness to take part in the summit.
Fahd bin Mahmoud Al-Saeed deputy premier for Oman Cabinet Affairs said the current phase has witnessed numerous developments that shed light on regional and international arenas.
He said it was an honor to represent Sultan Qaboos bin Saeed of Oman and lead his country's delegation.
He conveyed the greetings of Sultan Qaboos to the leaders and their representatives who will take part in the meeting wishing the conference every success.
Al-Saeed said that despite the challenges encircling our region the efforts being exerted by the GCC countries have yielded good results in several fields.
'The challenges facing the world economy that have a direct impact on the region necessitate special and prudent dealing with the situation. Giving special attention to the economic and social development would substantially contribute to achieving the goals of the region's peoples in the field of development and stability' he added.
