GCC Supreme Council Concludes 36th Session 5 Riyadh


(MENAFN- Saudi Press Agency) The Declaration called for holding an international conference for the reconstruction of Yemen after the Yemeni parties reach the sought political solution and develop a practical program for the rehabilitation of the Yemeni economy to facilitate its integration with the Gulf economy.
It announced its support for a political solution in Syria and outcomes of Syrian opposition conference held in Riyadh on December 8 to 10 2015 ensuring the unity of Syrian territories and independence in accordance with the principles of Geneva (1) welcoming the results of Vienna conference of the concerned parties.
It noted that the GCC states confirmed that the countries of the world shall assume a shared responsibility in the fight against extremism and terrorism and its elimination whatever might be its source adding that the GCC countries has made a lot in this regard and will continue their efforts in cooperation and coordination with brotherly and friendly countries stressing that terrorism has no religion and our tolerant religion rejects it as it is the religion of moderation and tolerance.
The vision of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to promote the GCC joint action and the decisions taken by the Supreme Council at this session provide the optimal approach to achieve these goals over the next year; and the Kingdom Saudi Arabia will coordinate and cooperate with Member States and the Secretariat of the Cooperation Council to put them in force during its presidency of the Council.
