Dar Al Ber helps 21 inmates convert to Islam in Dubai

As many as 21 inmates of the General Department of Punitive and Correctional Establishments in Dubai have converted to Islam this year owing to the tireless effort of staff preachers at the Islamic Information Centre of Dar Al Ber Society.

Rashid Al Junaibi Manager of the Centre said they spare no effort to guide people to the right path in line with the balanced transparent and tolerant strategy goals and vision of the Dar Al Ber Society.

"Staff scholars and preachers at the Centre well and attractively educate inmates here about the merciful teachings of Islam and Prophetic Sunnah in a way that helps them to behave well and be good models for others."

Dar Al Ber Society has also contributed some financial aids to the inmates to pay out their outstanding debts and diyas or blood money he added. "We always support the good-behaving inmates recommended by Department."

As such Dar Al Ber Society has run a special ceremony for honouring the new converts in the presence of H.E. Brigadier Mohammed Ali Al Shamaly Director of the General Department of Punitive and Correctional Establishments - Dubai H.E. Brigadier Abdulkareem Julphar Deputy Director of the Department.

Also present at the function were a number of senior officers non-commissioned officers along with Rashid Al Junaibi Manager of the Islamic Information Centre Faraj Al Kuthairi Deputy Manager of the Centre and Mohammed Al Kindi Secretary of the Centre.

Brigadier Al Shamaly paid tributes to Dar Al Ber Society and the Islamic Information Centre for their relentless efforts and fruitful cooperation with the Department to make a success of the set rehabilitation programmes they organise.

Al Junaibi also thanked the Department on their remarkable programmes that develop inmates' awareness and correct their behavior. "Our staff scholars and preachers would not have been able to do their job without the Department's help" he said noting that the Centre runs a series of courses Quran memorisation contests Arabic language courses and preaching sessions for inmates here.
