Jordan- House committee discusses cooperation with Swedish delegation


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman Dec. 9 (Petra)--Head of the Lower House of Parliament's Foreign Affairs Committee Bassam Manasir on Wednesday discussed with a Swedish delegation currently on a visit to the Kingdom means to forge closer ties between Jordan and Sweden as well as the latest developments in the Middle East.

Manasir highlighted the strong ties between Jordan and Sweden as well as keenness to further boost them mainly in the parliamentary field.

He also praised the importance of Sweden's role in supporting Arab issues mainly the Palestinian cause.

Talks during the meeting which was attended by Swedish Ambassador to Jordan Helena Grondahl Rietz also covered the Syrian crisis and its impact on Jordan which is hosting a large number of Syrian refugees who are placing an increasing pressure on the Kingdom's various sectors.
