Kuwait- Over 14,500 students suffering from chronic diseases

(MENAFN- Arab Times) More than 14,500 students in Kuwait have been found to be suffering from chronic diseases due to lack of exercise and unhealthy eating habits, reports Al- Qabas daily quoting some academic and health experts. The experts made this statement in the seminar organized by the ministry recently with the theme, "Physical Health of Our Children".

According to the experts, most of these students are weak and overweight; warning that the number will increase to as much as 340,000 if the Education Ministry does not take steps to develop the Physical Education curricula. They stressed the importance of raising awareness on the need to maintain a healthy lifestyle, especially since most people still believe in the wrong concepts about food intake. They also pointed out the significance of being physically active through regular exercise or by engaging in sports activities.
