Qatari Attorney General Tunisian Justice Minister Inaugurate AFAR

(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Tunis December 09 (QNA) - HE Qatar's the Attorney-General the UN Special Advocate on Asset Recovery Dr. Ali bin Fetais Al Marri and Tunisia's Minister of Defense and acting Minister of Justice Farhat Horchani on Wednesday inaugurated the 4th Arab Forum on Asset Recovery (AFAR) in Hammamet Tunisia.

At the opening of the forum HE the Attorney General delivered a speech on the march of the Arab Forum on Asset Recovery since its inception in 2012 in Doha and the achievements that have been made during the past three sessions in addition to the extent of the response and the cooperation of States in achieving its objectives and the commitment of international partners.

The three-day event will discuss the march of AFAR in addition to other topics including the challenges facing the Forum assets recovery files presented by some countries the contribution of the G7 the contribution of civil society and the activities of Stolen Asset Recovery (StAR) initiative.

The Opening session of the forum was attended by a number of dignitaries including Justice Ministers Egypt and Lebanon and the Secretary of State of the German Ministry of Justice. (QNA)
