Kuwait- Obama reaffirms US commitment to Israel's security

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) WASHINGTON Dec 9 (KUNA) -- President Barack Obama and Israeli President Reuven Rivlin met at the White House on Wednesday where they underscored the US commitment to the US-Israeli relationship and the plans to further strengthening Israel's security.They also reviewed the ongoing bilateral talks regarding a new 10 year Memorandum of Understanding on security assistance to Israel which resumed last week a White House statement revealed.Obama "saluted President Rivlin for his efforts to combat extremism of any kind and to promote tolerance and understanding between communities; he also heralded his commitment to equal and fair treatment for all citizens of Israel" said the statement.He also reiterated the US commitment to the "two-state solution to the vision of a viable sovereign Palestinian state living side-by-side in peace and security with a democratic secure Jewish state of Israel."
