Qatar- CNA Q rewards academic excellence


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Ahmed Heji receives the Highest Achiever Scholarship for the School of Business Studies from Hissa Al Aali Associate Director of the CNA-Q Executive Committee.

Doha: College of the North Atlantic–Qatar’s (CNA-Q) top students were rewarded for their academic achievements in the academic year 2014-15 recently.

The 13th annual Rewarding Excellence awards was sponsored by Oryx GTL for the second year. Oryx GTL offered four special awards to students who demonstrated academic excellence as well as a commitment to leadership entrepreneurship sport or health and wellness.

This year 101 students who achieved a Grade Point Average of 4.0 were entered into the Honour Society. The cumulative averages of award winners this year are higher than last year.

Other awards presented included the Highest Achiever Scholarship which was presented to Business Management–Accounting student Farnaaz Safdar Khan for the second year in a row to acknowledge her 97.3 percent weighted average.

Highest Achievers from each of the College’s Schools – Engineering Technology Business Studies Information Technology and Health Sciences – were also recognised with scholarships.

Ahmed Heji a Business Management–Human Resource Management student was the highest achiever for the School of Business. “I am proud to receive this award and be recognised for my hard work. I strive for success and am encouraged along the way by all my instructors. Each day at CNA-Q I am taught to learn whole-heartedly and strive for excellence” he said.

The ceremony opened with a messages from CNA-Q President Dr Ken MacLeod and Mohamed Al Enazi Chief Quality & HSE Officer at Oryx GTL.

“This is one of the most rewarding events of the year. It is a delight to see so many students acknowledged for their hard work and dedication to their studies” said Dr Ken MacLeod.

“We find great pride in participating in these great events to reward students for their effort and we hope that it motivates others to achieve the highest level of knowledge possible” said Mohamed Al Enazi. “Education is a central theme of Qatar’s National Vision 2030 and we are happy that we are headed on a well set path towards a knowledge-based economy.”
