Jordan- PM meets Arab Potash Company Board


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman Dec. 8 (Petra)--Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour on Tuesday met with chairman and members of the Arab Potash Company (APC) board.

Ensour was briefed by the APC Chairman Jamal Al Sarayrah About the company's future plans and projects and well as challenges facing it.

Al Sarayrah voiced thanked and appreciation for his majesty King Abdullah II for assisting the APC in opening new markets for its products the last of which was China.

The APC chairman also thanked the government for its support to the company to find solutions for the challenges it faced in light of competition and the decline in potash prices at the international level.

He said the company has projects valued at $1 billion to preserve assets and expand noting that the APC provided support to establish and expand schools and hospitals in the Jordan Valley.

Ensour stressed the importance of the APC's expansion project and called for accelerating the implementation of the industrial port in Aqaba that will serve the Potash Company.

The company he added should invest in value added products and focus on the quality of good to ensure they are competitive and develop the cosmetics industry.
