Riyadh and GCC summits report 3 Riyadh


(MENAFN- Saudi Press Agency) On the ninth of Rajab 1414 H. Riyadh has hosted anew the GCC summit under the patronage of late Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
The meeting reviewed the developing march of the GCC in the political security military economic social and cultural fields in view of the results and recommendations forwarded by ministerial committees and ministerial council (foreign ministers level). The meeting reviewed ways to push ahead the collective action emanating from feelings of joint fortune unity of goals wish of enhancing cooperation in a way that achieves the collective objectives as prescribed by the GCC statute and embodied in the decisions of all aspects of join action.
Addressing the opening session King Fahd bin Abdulaziz Al Saud cast light on the bases of joint action in the coming phase as the GCC supreme council asserted absolute determination to accelerate the GCC march pace and push it towards wider horizons to confront all challenges and comply with the regional and international changes and meet the aspirations of the leaders and peoples of the GCC to achieve security stability and prosperity.
The leaders also discussed the regional situations and developments in the Arab Gulf region amid the Iraqi regime's breach of ceasefire conditions set by the decision No. 687 continuation of its procrastination methodology towards the implementation of the UN Security Council resolutions pertaining to its aggression its repeated expansionist claims on the State of Kuwait threatening its sovereignty and independence and jeopardizing regional security.
The Supreme Council was briefed by late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan then-President of the United Arab Emirates on the current dispute between his country and the Islamic Republic of Iran on the three islands: Grand Tomb Smaller Tomb and Abu-Musa calling on Iran to respond to Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan's call to come to a direct dialogue and show willingness to go committed to every peaceful way to end this occupation.
The Supreme Council also reviewed the security and day-to-day life in the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina as a result of the Serbian aggression the heinous crimes and ethnical genocides being committed by Serbian regular and irregular army against humanity in that civil-war stricken country the violations of UN charters and flagrant challenge of the international legitimacy.
