Shakespeare Roald Dahl come closer to UAE students

Dubai UAE December 6 2015: Lovers of William Shakespeare’s imaginative plays Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s riveting mysteries John Keat’s rich poetry Charles Dickens’ remarkable prose or Geoffrey Chaucer’s exceptional literature now have the opportunity to follow in their illustrious footsteps in the birthplace that inspired such creativity – London.

Students across the UAE can now better understand the world of Shakespeare and other cultural greats by visiting the lands where they once lived and performed following the introduction of the London Literary Tour in the UAE by Compass International a leading educational travel and tourism company in the region focused on developing curriculum based tours specifically for aspiring students.

The London Literary Tour follows the success of Compass’ successful NASA Space Camp program which allows UAE students to understand space exploration at close quarters. The seven-day London tour features visits to theatres studios and museums – under the supervision of trained guides – and complements the existing literary syllabus being taught in UAE schools.

Lissy Donald Managing Director of Compass International (after having done successful workshops with Royal Shakeshpere Theater in the past with various schools) says that the next batch of 125 UAE students are expected to leave for London in January 2016. “Such interactive tours are an excellent way of inspiring students as they gain new perspectives through experiential learning. “It’s incredible to see how much these children learn during these trips not only in terms of learning facts and figures but also gaining knowledge about life skills. I have seen many children being transforming into more self-confident and independent individuals the change is unbelievable” she added.

The tour includes a visit to Shakespeare’s Globe a museum-cum-working theatre offering insights into Shakespeare''s life 16th century London and the original theatre. The students also visit Shakespeare’s birthplace which is a fascinating house that offers a tantalising glimpse into Shakespeare''s early world.

Students are also invited to participate in the interactive Street Jazz workshop taught in a fun and entertaining manner. The classes are relaxed and teach the basics of hip-hop R&B jazz and contemporary for all levels of learners. Other interesting highlights of the tour include Charlie and the Chocolate Factory which introduces the young fans to Roald Dahl’s evergreen classic. The tour rounds up with a visit to London Eye Westminster Abbey Kensington Palace and Royal Albert Hall.

A day at Warner Bros Studios where Harry Potter series was shot gives the students an insight to the magic behind fascinating special effects and helps them explore the behind-the-scenes secrets of the Harry Potter film series.

Compass International recently also signed a joint collaboration with the US Space and Rocket Centre (USSRC) an affiliate of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) to facilitate the region’s students to interact closely with Compass International Tours is the regional partner for US Space and Rocket Centre (USSRC) an affiliate of NASA for organising space camps for students in the UAE Kuwait Qatar India and Egypt.
