Jordan- King accepts credentials of 8 new ambassadors

Amman Dec. 6 (Petra)--His Majesty King Abdullah II on Sunday received the credentials of eight newly-appointed ambassadors to the Kingdom at the Basman Palace.

The ambassadors are: Haris Lukovac of Bosnia Herzegovina Shafaat Ullah Shah of Pakistan Andrea Fontana of the European Union David Bertolotti of France Latif Lafeer of Sri Lanka Monsignor Alberto Ortega Martin of the Vatican Prince Khalid bin Faisal bin Turki Al Saud of Saudi Arabia and Bandar bin Mohammaed Abdullah Al-Attiyah of Qatar.

Upon arrival at the Basman Palace for the ceremony the King reviewed the guard of honour as a military band played the national anthems of Jordan and the ambassadors' respective countries.

The diplomats laid wreaths on the tombs of King Hussein King Abdullah I and King Talal.

The ceremony was attended by the Royal Court chief and deputy prime minister and minister of foreign and expatriate affairs.
