Oman- PACP honoured at GCC eGovernment event in Bahrain

The Public Authority for Consumer Protection (PACP) has been honoured for its project 'Participation through social networking' at the fourth GCC eGovernment Award Conference and Exhibition 2015 held in Bahrain recently.

The ceremony was held under the patronage of Sheikh Khalifa bin Salman al Khalifa Prime Minister of Bahrain. The award was received by Dr Ali bin Rashid al Qalahati general manager Administrative and Finance Department PACP.

Dr Said bin Khamis al Kabi chairman of PACP said 'PACP winning this prize at the GCC level shows that the authority is keeping pace with times to implement eGovernment initiatives. Our employees in different departments are taking great efforts to improve services provided to customers. The award coincides with the 45th National Day celebrations and motivates us to keep improving.'

Dr Qalahati said 'This prize comes as part of the efforts to create awareness of our work through social media channels.'

Nasir bin Said al Mibashi an IT expert in PACP said 'The award is a result of great efforts put in by specialists and employees in PACP. We are present in social media channels such as Facebook Twitter YouTube Instagram and Sabla.

Our portal has separate sections for receiving complaints recalls local price index laws and decisions contact with the authority's head and news.' The portal gets more than a million hits every year said Mohammad bin Darwish al Balushi head of the information department PACP.
