Foot and mouth disease forum ends

DOHA: A regional conference on foot and mouth disease organised by the Ministry of Environment concluded on Thursday.

The conference recommended that countries in the region make annul investigation to check the prevalence of the disease to ensure the region is free from it by 2021.

In addition to fighting the disease they must also develop veterinary services based on guidelines of World Organisation For Animal Health.

The next conference will be held in Jordan in June 2016.

The countries must also take precautions against new viruses of the disease spreading in some countries the forum recommended.
