UAE- 8th season of Munshid Sharjah premiered at Al Majaz

Sharjah 5th December 2015 (WAM) - Under the generous patronage of H Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah the opening performance of the 8th season of Munshid Sharjah show kicked off yesterday (Friday).
Initiated by Sharjah Media Corporation the first episode was broadcast live on Sharjah TV from on the stage of Al Majaz Ampitheatre in presence of VIPs special guests members of the judging panel and audience.
This season's arbiters are the celebrated Tunisian singer Lotfi Bouchnak Emirati Nasheed star Osama Al Safi Syrian composer Assim Al Bunni and world renowned Islamic singer Mesut Kurtis who performed some of his most admired songs at the end of the show.
The 16 finalists who made it through the audition process and the members of the judging panels were dressed in the colours of the UAE flag in celebration of the 44th UAE National Day. The 16 vocal talents opened the show with a group song titled (Pulse of My Sharjah) which eulogizes the emirate's glorious history prestigious status and continued accomplishment thanks to the support of the Ruler of Sharjah. This was followed by a short documentary about the call of duty which expressed appreciation of the brave soldiers who are serving their nation.
Presented by Ahmed Majid the premier of the 8th season began with the Emirati Munshid Ibrahim Al Naqbi followed by vocal talents from Macedonia Belgium and Algeria Yemen Indonesia KSA Oman Italy Morocco France Malaysia Egypt and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Viewers voted for their favourites to decide together with the panel who goes through to the round and who goes home. The number of votes was 114251 from 91 countries. As a result five contestants were announced as having the weakest vocal performance.
Commenting on the new season Najm Eddine Hachim executive producer of "Munshid Sharjah" said: "It was a great show. Everyone got swept up in the celebratory atmosphere that surrounded the venue in celebration of the 44th UAE National Day. Contestants were inspired in their debut before the crowd to deliver their best performance. We expect more exciting competition in the coming rounds".
He added: "The first show translated the slogan of the program "Munshid Sharjah to the World" through the impressive debut of many talents especially those who represented countries that participate for the first time in the show. This reflects the good reputation gained by the program internationally".
The next performance of the show will feature the Emirati Nasheed star Ahmed BuKhatir the only Nasheed singer from the UAE to ever top a Virgin music chart.
A Nasheed is a work of vocal music that is either sung a cappella or accompanied by percussion instruments such as the daf. In general Islamic anasheed do not contain lamellaphone instruments string instruments or wind and brass instruments. This music genre is highly popular throughout the Islamic world.
