Kuwait- S.p.A affirms commitment to environmental sustainability

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) ROME Dec 3 (KUNA) -- Kuwait Petroleum Italia (S.p.A) asserted Monday that the company is committed to adhering to environmental standards in response to legal action mounted against the company by a court in the southern city of Naples.In a statement obtained by KUNA Wednesday S.p.A a subsidiary of Kuwait Petroleum International (Q8) revealed that it had received a "notice of seizure" by a Napoleon court authorizing the seizure of company assets amounting to 240 million Euros.Moreover the statement disclosed that the notice of seizure relates to a company project alleged to have violated environmental laws. "The legal action is still at a preliminary level and is not in any way detrimental to the company's everyday business" the statement said."S.p.A prioritizes environmental conservation and is committed to ensuring that its operations are conducted in a safe manner" the statement added.The company also said that it is working with its legal consultants in an effort to render the notice of seizure null and void.Kuwait Petroleum International known by its trademark Q8 refines and markets fuel and other petroleum derivatives outside Kuwait.
