(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) London Dec.3 (Petra)-- British warplanes launched their first airstrikes on sites of the Daesh terrorist group in Syria according to the British Defence Ministry.
The strikes came just hours after Britain's parliament voted to target Daesh targets in Syria.
Four RAF Tornado jets equipped with bombs took off from a Britain air base in Cyprus when the decision approved.
A spokesman for Britain's Ministry of Defense said early Thursday that "RAF Tornadoes have just returned from their first offensive operation over Syria and have conducted strikes" according to the BBC.
