Emir of Kuwait: Country is Safe, Future is Bright


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah said in a statement published on Thursday that the local and international developments will not affect the security of Kuwait, adding that the future seems bright for the country, according to Kuwait's (KUNA) news agency.

According to the local Al-Qabas newspaper, the Emir of Kuwait said the local developments are not worrying, stressing that "Kuwait is still the nation of security and peace".

As for Kuwait's regional position, Sheikh Sabah affirmed that Kuwait was a peaceful nation that did not hold any aggressive views against any nation in the region, adding that states in the Gulf also respected Kuwait's peaceful stance.

The Emir of Kuwait acknowledged that some states were trying to interfere with the local matters of other nations, but hoped that Kuwait would not be subjected to a similar situation.

On his views regarding Saudi Arabia's policy, Sheikh Sabah underlined the importance of relations with the Saudi neighbors, stressing that "what affects the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia also affects us".

He also shared views regarding Iran's influence in the region, affirming that the Iranian leadership knows the interest of Kuwait and the GCC countries was in line with their interest; therefore, he sees the situation in the region as secure.

Regarding his health condition during the past two weeks, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah said that he fell ill, but now he is in good health.
