Shaikha Lubna Al Qasimi Minister of International Cooperation and Development (MICAD) Head of the UAE Committee for the Coordination of Foreign Humanitarian Aid emphasised that the UAE aid during the years 2010-2014 stood at a whopping Dh60 billion ($16 billion) to more than 140 countries around the world.

Addressing a meeting held at Fairmont Bab Al Bahr Abu Dhabi and attended by more than 60 journalists and media personnel from Arab and foreign countries hosted by the National Media Council on the occasion of the 44th National Day Celebrations she said the ministry is planning to launch a new humanitarian aid initiative next year.

Answering a question on whether the UAE's humanitarian aid will be affected due to the fall in oil price she said the UAE has a clear humanitarian commitment as well as an economic policy that does not absolutely depend on oil.
