Message from the British Ambassador on UAE s National Day

ABU DHABI 1st December 2015 (WAM) - British Ambassador to the UAE Philip Parham made the following statement on UAE's national day anniversary "The 2nd of December is a time for many of us to celebrate. It is the anniversary of the birth of a strong ally and important partner of the UK.

The UAE is important for the 120000 British nationals who live and work here and who contribute to the country; for the more than one million British people who visit each year; for the 5000 British companies who operate here; for all those who benefit from the more than ?12 billion of annual trade between the UK and UAE; for all those whose prosperity depends on the flows of investment between the two countries; for the many British businesspeople who take great pride in running major operations in the UAE; and for the British artists architects experts and companies who have helped to design and build some of the outstanding landmarks and infrastructure of the UAE.

So on behalf of the British government and the British community in the UAE I am delighted to wish the President of the UAE His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Their Highnesses the Rulers and Crown Princes of the Emirates and all Emiratis our warmest congratulations on their 44th National Day."
