Oman- Expo promoting innovation in technology begins

I-Tech Expo - Oman Innovation and Technology Exhibition the sultanate's first ever tech innovation event was opened by H H Sayyid Taimur bin Asad al Said on Tuesday.

The two-day exhibition at the Oman International Exhibition Centre is seeing participation from various entities institutes bloggers entrepreneurs and individuals showcasing their creative applications robotics software and websites.

The exhibition is also displaying the latest ICT products and services hi-tech gadgets consumer electronics and cutting edge smart technology across all sectors.

Speaking about the event Ahmed Baabood executive chairman of Muscat Expo the organisers said 'This is the first time that we are having such an event in Muscat. There are more than 50 participants in the exhibition and we are happy with the response.

'Some of the key highlights of the expo are the Invention Zone where ingenious local and international inventors and innovators are showcasing their nascent projects designed to shape our future. There is also the Student Lab Zone dedicated to encourage and promote budding talent.'

The section called Future Technology aims to showcase technological advances of tomorrow (like GCC's first electric car). Also a workshop on robotics will be conducted by Knowledge Hub Dubai.

The exhibition also has a gaming has a Gaming Zone and a stall by MSI Gaming a company that makes the gaming laptops. MSI Gaming will be showcasing 15 latest gaming machines and laptops.

A gaming workshop will be conducted by SAE Institute Dubai where Omani developers and animation artists will get a chance to learn the game development science.

I-Tech Expo is being supported by the Ministry of Manpower the Industrial Innovation Center the International Federation of Inventors Association the International Association of Science Parks and Areas of Innovation Euro Invent and the Arab Robotics Association.

The exhibition is open from 10am to 1pm and from 5pm to 9pm.
