Gili Islands Indonesia - During the previous couple of years The PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC) offered by Platinum PADI Course Director Holly Macleod has won multiple awards for its professionalism and commitment to professional development. All Instructor level programs are fully conducted by Holly who has won multiple awards including the prestigious Platinum Status which is awarded to instructor trainers who have gone over and above the level of professionalism and commitment to the PADI Education system that is generally expected. The Elite Instructor Award has also been awarded in respect of pure experience having issued an unusually high amount of Instructor level certifications over the course of one year.

The program has developed in a way to give Instructors the best possible start to a new rewarding and exciting career path within the recreational diving industry and has previously provided dive professionals with the tools they need to develop a rewarding and successful career within the industry. The course takes place at Trawangan Dive the first ever PADI 5 Star IDC Career Development Center (CDC) to be established in Lombok and the Gili Islands.

The program includes a pre course preparation period and in previous years has been conducted over a 4 day period. However in 2016 the Pre-IDC Preparation course will be conducted over 5 days so as to give candidates an even better start to the PADI Instructor Development Course. During the preparation period candidates will review the knowledge and skills learnt during their Divemaster course and develop them to a professional demonstrational standard. As well as the PADI Skill Circuit Instructor candidates will also review diving theory so as to make the perfect start on the PADI IDC Indonesia Program.

The Instructor Development Course (IDC) runs on an 11 day schedule incorporating all of the required PADI IDC Syllabus as well as some additional workshops that have been developed by Platinum PADI Course Director Holly Macleod.

Mandatory classroom based components include The Business of Diving Marketing The 4 E’s of Sales Diver Acquisition Diver Retention Risk Management and Standards and Procedures. During the PADI IDC in the Gili Islands Platinum PADI Course Director Holly will break down the standards and procedures so as candidates can easily relate them to the individual PADI programs which they themselves will be teaching in the near future. There are also a range of course conduct and student control workshops which based upon the PADI Course Director Holly’s experience are designed to give students an idea of exactly how to conduct arrange and deliver the PADI educational system to future divers. During classroom sessions candidates will also practice their individual Knowledge Development teaching presentations.

Confined Water Sessions take place in the swimming pool and will include the Skills Workshops A Rescue Workshops The DSD Workshop and Rescue Exercise 7 Practice. Candidates will also practice their individual confined teaching presentations whilst being evaluated by the Course Director.

During Open Water Sessions candidates will participate in the Rescue Workshops The CESA and Descent Workshops Skills Workshops The Adventures in Diving Workshop. Also Open Water Teaching Presentations will be practiced numerous times whilst also being evaluated. In addition candidates will get plenty of opportunity to practice Rescue Exercise 7.
