Statement of Sultan bin Zayed on national day UAENationalDay44

ABU DHABI 1st December 2015 (WAM)--H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Zayed Al Nahyan the President's Representative has said the UAE's development experience has a become a role model for the developing countries to emulate while the advanced countries look at it with awe and admiration.

In his statement to Nation Shield Magazine on the occasion of 44th national day anniversary Sheikh Sultan said the people of the UAE moved from the subsistence society to prosperous happy and welfare one. It now extends its hands to the needy people worldwide in line with the humanitarian legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

He added that the UAE stood strong against the extremism and terrorism to safeguard the Arab security in general the Gulf in particular.

Sheikh Sultan pointed out that despite "our keen desire to establish peace in the region and avoid wars through repeated calls to resolve existing problems through political dialogue or resorting to international laws especially in the case of the occupied UAE islands yet some insist on aggression and sedition in order to extend their influence on the Arab people and fragment their national unity." This has prompted the Arab coalition led by Saudi Arabia to launch "Operation Decisive Storm" in order to restore hope security and peace to the region.

The following is the text of the statement: "As we celebrate the 44th national day anniversary of the UAE Union the country has catapulted to prosperity. We now yield the fruits of the forefathers' efforts while the young generations developed the objectives and update the visions to keep pace with the latest development as well as merge with Arab world and international community to take part in progress. The UAE experience has become a role model and an inspirational experience to the developing countries to emulate the factors of success while the developed countries look at the UAE model with respect and appreciation.

This was the dream of Sheikh Zayed with his brothers the Rulers of the Emirates who cherished the strength of the Union and the importance of solidarity. Those great leaders possessed a strong will needed by the Union. They had realised that the dream of the Union would become a reality when they rehabilitate and develop Emirati human resources to empower them to lead the development. The founding fathers had what they wanted as they galvanised the nation on 2nd December 1971 to declare the birth of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Since then the development saga begun.

The Emirati women participation in all fields had a great impact in expediting the development as they occupy the administrative executive engineering educational health media and technical jobs. Given their distinguished performance the Emirati woman occupy the leading political posts.

The people of the UAE moved from the subsistence society to prosperous happy and welfare society. Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) has now become one of the conspicuous humanitarian organisations in the world thanks to the legacy of Sheikh Zayed which is sustained by Sheikh Khalifa. The ERC provides its humanitarian services to the Arab countries and other world countries. The UAE has even sacrificed its sons in the defence of Yemen and the land of forefathers which is experiencing internal and external aggression that even poses threat to the Arab Gulf region.

The spirit of the Union runs in our bodies and beats in our hearts. It is the source of vibrant energy and strength of our people. This motivates them for the development and the defence of the nation.

The national cohesion between the leaders of the UAE and their people is a well-established foundation that promotes the nation building. The UAE expands and grows to reach high international ranks through the possession of the updated progress tools. This has prompted the UAE President to declare 2015 a year of innovation in the UAE to promote a culture of innovation and excellence and to achieve greater success in the process of smart government.

As we celebrate the national day we salute our heroes of the armed forces and stress our pride of the martyrs.
