Al Jaber pays tribute to UAE martyrs leaders on National Day

ABU DHABI 1st December 2-15 (WAM) --- Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Sultan Al Jaber Minister of State has paid tributes to the founding father of the UAE the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and the UAE leaders namely President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and Their Highnesses Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates.

In a statement entitled "Security Safety and Sustainable Development" on the occasion of the 44th UAE National Day Minister Al Jaber also praised the UAE martyrs who fell while carrying out their civilian humanitarian and military duties.

He said thanks to the UAE top leadership prosperity and growth continue to spread today across the country.

"Because our federation was built on solid foundations the UAE is today a modern state where its citizens and residents enjoy the highest living standards safety and stability that ensure sustainable growth and open endless avenues to a future full of promising opportunities."

Thanks to the wise leadership's strategic vision and overall future planning the UAE made remarkable achievements in economic diversification a shift from reliance on natural resources to an economy that is based on knowledge and human capital with the ultimate goals of preserving its international stature as an advanced country he added.

Minister Al Jaber said the growth strategy in the UAE is based on clear options including the optimal employment of hydrocarbons development of solutions for long-term investment of these resources based on scientific planning and a strategic vision that predicts the future and prepares for it.

Energy he added is the backbone of all economic developmental and social activities and that is why the UAE works on enhancing its energy mix in which oil and gas are major elements through building its capacity for new sources of energy including peaceful nuclear energy and renewables.

"By Establishing Masdar in 2006 to build a renewable energy sector the UAE became the first country in this region to adopt this ambitious approach to the future. The success of Masdar's projects showed the economic benefits of renewable energy for winning the confidence of the world and therefore the bid to host the headquarters of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) which has been operating for several years in the UAE bolstering Abu Dhabi's stature as a global energy capital."

Water scarcity in the region Al Jaber noted prompted the leadership to launch initiatives to improve water management reduce water footprint encourage innovative and economic solutions and intensity research and development to improve the country's desalination efficiency.

"In this context the UAE launched the International Water Summit to increase cooperation with the international community mobilise efforts and support innovation of solutions. In addition Masdar launched a pilot program to test and develop advanced energy-efficient seawater desalination technologies suitable to be powered by renewable energy sources."

Minister Al Jaber concluded "As we celebrate the establishment of our federation we have confidence in the bright future of the UAE because its people are prepared to sacrifice their lives in defence of its security stability and prosperity and also because its leadership plans for the future and prioritises the interests of its people. Our duty is to double efforts each in their field of specialty to renew our allegiance and loyalty to our leadership and county through actions rather than words and to keep the UAE Flag flying high."
