Canada hails Jordan's support to efforts to resettle Syrian refugees


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Canadian Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship John McCallum praised Jordan's support to Canada's efforts to resettle 25,000 Syrian refugees in his country by end of February.

In a press statement on Tuesday, the Canadian minister said the Jordanian government is strongly supporting Canada's endeavors to achieve this objective, noting that the Royal Jordanian is also cooperating with the Canadian government in this regard.

McCallum said his country will lease aircrafts from the Royal Jordanian to transfer Syrian refugees to Canada, adding that the first aircraft will arrive in Canada within a week.
