ORLANDO Florida—November 30 2015—Carmen Ciochina recently announced the book “Communism Through a Child’s Eyes” an incredible true story. The book will tell Carmen’s story and give the details of what it meant to live in a society where there was no freedom. Carmen was born in 1976 in Resita closed to Timisoara Romania where the Revolution in 1898 started during communism. The author went to school and lived there until 1997 when they came to the United States. The facts that will be written are actual events that Carmen lived and experienced. Imagine going to a grocery store only once a month because that’s what was allowed and only being able to get oil (0.13 gallon) sugar a pound of flour and five eggs. The elections were held every four to five years on Sundays and the only person on the ballot was Nicolae Ceausescu the Romanian Communist politician.
The laws allowed families to have four children after that they could have a legal abortion paid by the State. The only documents needed were four birth certificates. If a person had more than one house the property would have been "confiscated" by the State. No one was allowed to travel abroad and if they tried to escape and were caught they would be executed on the spot. Then everything they had on their name taken by the State. Children had to work and help their families survive at the cost of sometimes not being able to go to school or to have a normal childhood. These are just some of the accounts Carmen discusses in the upcoming book “Communism Through a Child’s Eyes.”
However before this book can be published Carmen needs help. That’s why the author launched this . The goal of this project is to raise $50000 by December 22 2015. The funds raised will go towards printing and publishing the book.
