(MENAFNEditorial) The Seventh Skyline Inter-school Sports Festival 2015 was an event to watch out this season. The 6-day festival which started on November 21 2015 saw the participation from the major schools across The UAE.
A total of 42 schools participated in this year’s sports mega-event. Some of the major schools which participated this time are Delhi Private School Philadelphia Private School – Dubai Adab Iranian Private School and Our Own School to name a few.
The prize distribution ceremony was held inside the SUC premises on November 26 2015 and prizes were handed over to the winning teams by Dr. Amitabh Upadhya Professor DEAN Skyline University College.
The sports festival also assumes special importance this year as Skyline celebrates its Silver Jubilee from January 15 2015 onwards which will be marked by yearlong celebrations.
Students from various disciplines competed in the multi-sports events like Football Basketball Table Tennis and Cricket at Skyline University College campus.
The sports activities at SUC are of an international level and Mr. Nitin Anand COEC Skyline University College was excited about hosting the sports festival when he said “ In Skyline we have always believed that Sports is an integral part of any institution and we at SUC make special efforts to promote sports activities. Our campus is well equipped with the world-class facilities for all kinds of sports activities. It was a great to see all the teams keeping sportsman spirit alive and I wish the teams all the best who are participating in this year’s Inter-school Sports Festival.”
Mr Sanjay Benjamin who heads - Sports Department at the Skyline University also spoke at length about the Skyline’s preparations for the festival “Skyline is celebrating its silver jubilee this year and it has been promoting sports culture since long and it has been a pioneer in the region. To promote sports in the university we have developed more grounds and other facilities to encourage sports among the students in our college and I think inter school sports festivals such as these will go a long way in promoting our sporting tradition. Skyline was very well prepared this time to conduct the festival where 42 schools took part in Football Basketball Cricket and Table Tennis.”
