Oman- Nama Group signs RO159mn worth of contracts

Nama Group recently signed as many as nine contracts with a value of RO159mn for different projects in the sultanate that the group will be underwriting in 2015.

Nama Group recently sponsored the Business Opportunities Forum as a gold sponsor according to a press release.

The forum was organised by Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industries (OCCI) that was held during November 16-17 at the Oman International Exhibition Center.

The contracts were signed at the forum. Moreover Nama Group also presented its most important projects for the year 2016 with value of RO400mn in the Forum's brochure.

The signed projects included a project to improve the network in Al Rustaq in South Al Batinah region as well as another project to supply electricity to governmental entities in Ibri in North Sharqiyah region and a project to build transformer stations in Ibra and Salalah.

Furthermore Rural Areas Electricity Company (RAECO) signed a contract to supply fuel to power generation stations that belongs to it.

To improve the capacity of the network there are three projects to build power generation stations in Saih al Kheirat in Dhofar and Khasab in Musandam and in Musairah in Al Sharqiyah.

'The Group is working to support the needs of economic growth through cooperation with the concerned authorities to implement projects' said Eng Omar al Wahaibi Nama Group's chief executive officer.

'The forum provided an appropriate platform to identify the suppliers and contractors with the most important investment opportunities in development of the group for 2016' Wahaibi added.
