UAE- Emirates Human Rights Association honours ECSSR for its role in community services related to human rights

ABU DHABI 29th November 2015 (WAM) -- The Emirates Human Rights Association EHRA has honoured the Emirates Centre for Strategic Studies and Research ECSSR for its pioneering role in community services and for educating the public at local Arab and global levels on regional and international issues especially those related to human rights.

The event took place on the sidelines of a symposium "The Reality of Rights and Freedom in the Republic of Yemen" which was organised by EHRA and hosted by the ECSSR.

Mohammed Salem Al-Kaabi Chairman of the Board of Directors EHRA expressed his gratitude to the ECSSR for hosting the event. He said that he appreciated the significant efforts being made by Dr. Jamal Sanad Al-Suwaidi Director-General of the ECSSR to spread knowledge and education and provide services to the community.

Speaking on the occasion Izz Al-Din Al-Asbahi Minister of Human Rights in the Republic of Yemen highlighted the role of the Arab coalition and the UAE in particular in ensuring the safety of civilians across various governorates. He praised the UAE for supporting the Yemeni people in their fight to defend their territory and sovereignty. He also applauded the UAE for providing aid to the war-torn country and in the wake of the hurricane that it experienced recently. Al-Asbahi said that Yemen's leadership government and its people appreciate the humanitarian relief being provided by the UAE continuously.

During the event a memento on behalf of the ECSSR was presented to EHRA in recognition of its efforts in supporting human rights in the UAE. The ECSSR also praised the EHRA for raising awareness among individuals about their rights and duties towards the society and the state and the state's duties towards them.
