(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) The topic of budget sustainability is a vital one that was recommended by previous studies, Minister of Social Affairs and Labor and Minister of State for Planning and Development Hind Sabeeh Al-Sabeeh has said.
A statement by the Secretariat of the Supreme Council for Planning and Development (SCPD) on Saturday quoted the Minister as saying that she understands the topic in light of the state reliance on oil by up to 93 percent as the major source of national income.
Al-Sabeeh made the statement at a panel session held on Wednesday under "sustainability of Kuwait's budget," the SCPD said.
The minister noted that she would move positively on the topic with ministers and MPs, reiterating eagerness by the SCPD to prepare a relevant report, involving economists.
The report will offer recommendations for solving the problems of wage and subsidy inflation, based on a definite timetable, she noted.
